Although supermarkets' labels may simplify nutrition information, some groups argue the U.S. Food and Drug Administration needs to improve its own food labeling requirements.
The Washington, D.C.-based Center for Science in the Public Interest, for instance, claims the FDA needs to update the 1990 Nutrition and Education Act by requiring prominent labeling of calories per serving, making serving sizes realistic and making nutrition labels look less like a company's balance sheet and easier to understand.See the full content of this document
