When Dr. Felix Badillo performed prostate surgery on Bill Phelps last December, he didn't get anywhere near him.
Operating at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, the doctor used the da Vinci Surgical System - a robotic, computer-assisted surgical device - to work on the former sheet metal mechanic turned bus driver and part-time lobsterman.
