The Rundown

Summary

Analyze the dirt

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County's insect and plant disease diagnostic lab is open for the season and available for consultations on ridding lawns of pests. People can bring soil samples to the lab to be tested for free in April. The lab will analyze the soil and identify tick and insect specimens, the pH of the soil and what plant problems the soil can contribute to. The lab is located at Bayard Cutting Arboretum on Montauk Highway in Oakdale. For additional information, call (631) 5821-4223.
