According to a recent HSBC-North America survey, one-in-three American consumers don't save any money in advance for holiday purchases.
Also, consumers who exceed their holiday budget do so by nearly $400. With that said, the bank recommended that shoppers stick to a SMART formula - so they weren't scrounging for dimes in January.See the full content of this document
