Snow Cuts Power to More Than 3,000 On Long Island

Many Long Islanders spent part of today shoveling out from the snow storm, but a few thousand also saw their lights go out due to fallen electric lines.

The Long Island Power Authority today said that more than 3,000 customers lost power due to the storm, which hit eastern Long Island hardest, but that nearly all had power restored by mid-afternoon Wednesday.
