State Sen. Brian X. Foley pledged his opposition to Gov. David Paterson's proposed "fat tax" on sugary beverages during a rally at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company Sales Center in Hauppauge on Thursday.
Foley, wearing a personalized Teamsters Local 812 jacket and standing in front of a crowd of union workers holding signs stating, "Save My Job," said that the penny an ounce tax on non-diet soda and other sugary drinks could cost the 500 workers employed at the center their jobs because it will result in less soft drink sales.See the full content of this document
