November Housing Slows On Long Island, Prices Hold

Summary


There were fewer sales of single-family homes on Long Island in November than the month before, but prices may have hit bottom.

After a huge October where 2,223 homes were contracted for sale, the Multiple Listing Service of Long Island reports that 1,584 homes were put into contracts in November, a drop of about 29 percent. But last month's sales still outpaced those of a year ago when only 1,234 homes were contracted for sale in November 2008.
