Members of the Long Island Smart Growth Working Group met with transportation agency officials Friday to see what projects will share in the billions of dollars earmarked for transportation here.
Heather Sporn, a senior policy advisor with the state Department of Transportation, said 19 projects were underway that have been financed with about $80 million of federal stimulus funds. They include improvements to ferry terminals in Glen Cove and Patchogue, widening of Route 112, and pavement resurfacing of the Long Island Expressway and several local roads.See the full content of this document
