Long Island Eco Dev Council Receives 47 Project Proposals

The Long Island Regional Economic Development Council approved the first draft of its strategic plan it will be submitting to the state today, although it contained one glaring omission - the transformative projects that will form the crux of it.

At the council's meeting held today at Molloy College's Suffolk Center on the grounds of Republic Airport in Farmingdale, council co- chairman Kevin Law said the council had received 47 potential transformative projects, each vying to be one used as the foundation for the regional five-year strategic plan to drive economic development on Long Island.
