A new labor advisory board in North Hempstead created to connect developers with local labor unions convened for the first time this month.
The 15-member board, established earlier this year by Town Supervisor Jon Kaiman, was approved unanimously by the town council in June. The group will consult the town on new development projects - specifically regarding $80 million worth of new development in downtown New Cassel - and will work to establish major apprenticeship programs, enforce prevailing wage provisions and negotiate labor agreements.See the full content of this document
