Last week, the New York State Senate's NextGen Task Force, chaired by Sen. Dean Skelos, R-Rockville Centre, issued its report. The report has several interesting items that could benefit businesses on Long Island, and it resulted from the findings of public hearings held around the state earlier this year.
The report recommended the creation of EXCELL-NY, a program designed to foster economic development throughout the state, with a focus on creating biotech and high-tech jobs. The program, however, is not limited to those fields. It also includes recommendations for the expansion of the State's Empire Zone Program and various tax credits and incentives for job creation.See the full content of this document
