Summary
What a state of affairs we Long Islanders find ourselves in. We are coming to grips with a global economy that has created a more discernable upper middle class, while also developing a permanent lower class. We fund a war that is draining the national treasury and costing precious American lives. We endure a frontal attack on workers rights, where financial savings are wrung from wages and pensions. We also watch as our labor force competes with lower wage areas, all so that Wall Street and shareholders are rewarded with profits and dividends.
